Beside each area are two numbers. The top number is the number of hate crimes in a particular area of Ontario. The lower number is the rate of occurrence per 100,000 population in that area.

For example, there were 1,295 police-reported hate crimes in Canada for the year 2014. 3.7 Canadians out of 100,000 would be targeted. In Peel Region, where I live, there were 52 police-reported hate crimes with a rate of 3.8/100,000 population.

If an area in Ontario does not appear on the graph, there were no police-reported hate crimes there in 2014.
